tl;dr; girl on a boat
I was having a hard time deciding what today’s song of the day was going to be. I was perusing my “Songs Under Consideration” list, waiting for something to jump out at me. I went up and down the list, and there it was:
I met Damon Buxton many years ago, while Diane and I were still doing the long distance thing. In December, 2012, when I got my contract with Microsoft, Damon was working at Microsoft too, as were two other mutual friends, Nick and Jeremy. We would meet on Wednesdays for lunch. I used to look forward to those times with fondness!
Damon released “A Trick Of Light” in 2015. I purchased a signed CD and 2 concert tickets as part of his KickStarter. The concert was held in the Bastyr University Chapel. The acoustics in this chapel were exquisite, as was the architecture. And all of this was enhanced by Damon’s music. Damon offers contemplative, and soothing songs to carry you along and carry you away. If you like this song, I hope you’ll give his other stuff a listen. In addition to being a top-shelf musician and composer, he is also a most excellent human being. You would be lucky to know him.
That night at Bastyr, Damon debuted “Girl In A Boat“. It’s my “favorite Damon Buxton song so far”. I hope it is your favorite too. So far. <wink>
